Zinc coated profiles

In order to support its clients and to offer them complete solutions, TeraSteel opened a new production centre in 2013. This centre is specialized in the production of light profiles in cold formed zinc coated steel.  

Light profiles from zinc coated cold formed profiles are a category of products that are developing very fast due to their advantages.  

Currently, TeraSteel offers profile systems type Z, C, U and Σ, with section heights from 100 mm up to 400 mm, thicknesses of 1-4 mm and lengths from 2m to 13.5 m (or even oversize lengths up to 15m). 

Cold formed profiles can be used both as:

a) structural steel elements (main elements) for civil engineering, industrial constructions and farm buildings;

b) secondary elements of building structures, roof purlins or wall spars;

The base material is zinc coated steel sheet in accordance with SR EN 10143 and SR EN 10346 standards. Dimensional and shape tolerances meet the requirements of SR EN 10162 and SR EN 1090-2 standards. The products performance features are in accordance with SR EN 1090-1+A1; SR EN 1090-2+A1 standards and the construction project.    

The profiles can be made with automatic holes according to the project requirements. Light profiles from zinc coated steel are made through progressive cold forming of zinc coated sheet stripes that pas through several sets of roles. 

Particularities of the zinc coated profile system

The use of profiles from thin sheet means basically less steel and the wide range of sizes that can be obtained (can be made profiles in small series, without significant cost increases) allows designers to obtain well optimized structures and implicitly cheaper.  

Uses

Buildings which land very well to this construction system:

  • storage halls
  • production halls
  • various services halls (auto services, car washes, small workshops, agricultural farms);

Are used in the construction field as components for:  

  • main structures (frames with pillars and beams) ;
  • secondary structures (to support the covers and the closings);
  • beams for intermediate floors;
  • latticed farms (mixed sections C and/or Σ);;
  • superposings, attics.

Advantages of TeraSteel zinc coated profiles: 

  • High variety of Z, C, U, Sigma profiles sizes, with profile height between 100-400 mm and sheet thickness between 1.00-4.00 mm ;
  • Possibility to do some profiles with special sizes according to the customer’s specifications;
  • Possibility to do a high variety of holes (sizes and shapes) directly on the production line;
  • The holes may have different diameters from 12 to 18 mm which combined can create different types of holes.
