Plastsistem is rebranded and becomes TeraSteel. The new name describes better its belonging to Teraplast Group, its field of activity and the future development directions.
TeraSteel DOO – Teraplast Group acquires the thermal insulation panels’ factory Interlemind from Serbia and opens TeraSteel Serbia. This is the first Romanian production unit opened abroad after 1990. Thus, TeraSteel manages to obtain a better sales coverage in the former Yugoslavian region.
TeraSteel begins the production of zinc coated structures, after an investment of 2.5 million Euros, 50% financed from European Funds through the Operational Programme “Increase of Economic Competitiveness”. Through this investment, TeraSteel offers the complete solution for the construction of halls.
PU.MA line modernisation is completed after an investment of 1.5 million Euro. The technical modernisation will generate a productivity increase and will allow the company to extend its product portfolio.
2008 - 2009
TeraSteel invests 1 million Euro in the development of its production facilities.
When Teraplast became major shareholder with 70.42%, TeraSteel was reorganised in order to produce thermal insulation panels with polyurethane foam core.
During this period, TeraSteel conducts activities of producing injected products, PVC joinery and also commercialising products complementary to Teraplast portfolio. At the same time it develops the distribution network by opening commercial centres in Constanta, Iasi, Galati and Oradea.
It is set up Plastsistem (currently TeraSteel), having as shareholders Teraplast with 17.9% and a few natural persons.
